For Immediate Release November 10, 2020

ST. THOMAS, USVI - Senator Elect Carla Joseph released the following statement in commemoration of Veterans Day. “On this Veterans Day, I pause to salute the men and women within our community and across our nation who have honorably served in our military. I am especially proud to celebrate and recognize the Territory’s 2020 Veteran Honorees Oscar R. James, Sr. of St. John, Romeo A. Malone of St. Thomas, and Abraham Hewitt of St. Croix. These men of distinction, like so many others we know, pledged to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I join in saying thank you to our Veterans for picking up the mantle to secure, guard and defend democracy within our country and through deployment across the world. We also thank the families of our veterans who have endured the life of service. It is my belief that everyone has encountered or knows a Veteran. For me, those persons are many friends, associates, and members of my family to include my brother Carl Joseph, and my campaign co-chairs Angel “Juanie” Turnbull and Dexter Freeman. This week when you encounter a Veteran, tell them thank you as we remember and celebrate their service. Happy Veterans Day!”
